TAEYEON’s third mini album, ‘Something New’, will be released through various online music sites on June 18th. The album comprises a total of six tracks including the title song, ‘Something New’, and songs of various genres, giving the chance to enjoy much broader spectrum of music by the ‘unparalleled vocalist’, TAEYEON.
Especially, this is the new album coming out in six months after ‘This Christmas – Winter is Coming’, the winter album released last December. The hit maker, Kenzie, America’s famous hip hop producer, Dem Jointz, the production team from America, MZMC, and the talented singer-songwriter, Rice n' Peas joined the production to enhance the quality of the album.
TAEYEON has continued her winning streak by sweeping various digital and album charts each time she released a song such as ‘I’, ‘Rain’, ‘Why’, ’11:11’, ‘Fine’, and ‘Make Me Love You’ and won enormous support through her charming voice and outstanding vocal prowess. Title Song, ‘Something New’!
The title song, ‘Something New’, is an urban pop song in neo soul genre that TAEYEON is trying for the first time. The refined and alluring voice stands out in the song and the lyric sends a message, ‘Seek our own individuality in modern life that always seems to pursue something new but actually has become uniform.’ It is perfect for experiencing TAEYEON’s new music style.
‘All Night Long (Feat. LUCAS of NCT)’ is a pop song featuring the harmonious performance of acoustic instruments and LUCAS of NCT who made the song doubly charming with the chic rap for the intro. ‘Baram X 3’ is a pop song that mixed hip hop and soul genres and wittily and interestingly expressed the feeling of the woman who is looking out the window as if she is looking at the wind (baram) while thinking that her boyfriend might be having an affair (baram).
Other songs also attract ears. ‘One Day’ expresses the feeling of a woman who wishes to give an unforgettable gift to her boyfriend on his birthday. Especially, TAEYEON personally directed the vocal part in ‘Circus’, putting her genuine emotion into it.
