Chrystal Soo Jung (born October 24, 1994), better known by her stage name, Krystal, is an American singer and actress, active in South Korea. She is a member of the Korea based girl group F(x) and is the younger sister of Jessica Jung, a singer, actress, businesswoman and former Girls' Generation member. Krystal was discovered by SM Entertainment in 2000 and would later join the company to train for her career.
Crystal Soo-jung, less commonly known by her Korean name, Jung Soo-jung was born on October 24, 1994 in San Francisco, USA to Korean parents who emigrated from South Korea. She and her sister, Jessica were discovered by SM Entertainment in 2000, the record label saw potential in the young girls to become performers and the sisters had a cameo in the music video, Wedding March by Shinhwa. Krystal's parents did not allow her to join SM until 2006 believing she was too young.
Krystal began starring in South Korean Commercials in 2002. And trained in singing, dancing and acting from 2006 until 2009 before making her singing debut in the girl group, F(x)
Krystal is a member of F(x) as a singer and dancer in the group. The group are popular in South Korea and Japan and released their debut single, La Cha Ta in 2009. F(x) have currently released 4 studio albulms and two EPs. Krystal has collaborated with fellow member, Luna in the group for the songs, Sorry Dear Daddy and You Are My Destiny. Krystal also holds a solo singing career and has made appearances in music videos. She is also an actress who has had roles in My Lovely Girl, High Kick 3 and The Heirs. Krystal joined the ballad group, SM the Ballad in 2014 and appeared on a range of reality TV shows such as Jessica and Krystal , with sister, Jessica who she regularly collaborates with as well as Strong Heart, Running Man, Hello Counselor, Dream Team 2, The M Wave,Kiss and Cry and Project Runway Korea.
